Having stayed in the United Kingdom for the last four years as the Israeli ambassador to the UK, it is time for Daniel Taub to hung his boots and call it a day. His tenure has seen the relation between the two countries improve as well as businesses prosper to record highs.

During his tenure, Mr. Daniel Taub who is resigning in the summer of this year saw Israel-UK trade more than double. Also, his tenure saw the deepening of business, academic and cultural links with the two countries from different continents. This was as per the report released by the embassy of Israel in the United Kingdom.

In a statement by Sajid Javid, the British Secretary of State for Business, Innovations, and Skills he refers to the trade between the two nations of having entered a “golden era.” He was speaking at an earlier event, the British Israeli Business Awards.

According to Britain’s Chamber of Commerce, over 300 Israeli firms have set shop in the U.K. annual bilateral trade is on the upside of $5.5 billion. However, according to Javid, the amount is close to $7 billion.

Having been born in the U.K before immigrating to Israel, Mr. Taub became the ambassador of Israel in the U.K in 2011. He has also acted as a peace negotiator between Israel and Palestine. In an interview with the Jewish Chronicle in 2012, Daniel Taub said that he was more concerned about the situation in college campuses and warned administrators to ensure that every view is expressed freely without fear victimization. This was about Britain’s largest student union has voted to boycott Israel.

As a show of his love and strong support for his country, in 2014 Mr. Taub defiantly visited Bradford, after the city had been declared an “Israel-free-zone” by its parliamentary representative George Galloway.

Mr. Daniel Taub was born in 1992 in the Great Britain. He attended University College of Oxford as well as University College in London before joining Harvard University’s School of Government. He later moved to Israel where he extensively served in Israel Defense Forces as a reserve officer and combat medic.
